Dripsey NS are holding an information evening for parents of 5th and 6th class pupils on May 28th at 8 PM to inform parents of the Relationships and Sexuality Education (RSE) programme that their children will learn.
This will be followed by a full day of the RSE programme for these pupils on June 19th.
Parents/Guardians must give permission for their child to partake in the programme on June 19th. If a parent/guardian does not wish their child to partake they may inform the school of this in writing.
Both of the above will be presented by Mary Looney (RGN,SCM.RPN.) and will be delivered in a way which is light, fun and age appropriate.
The RSE programme incorporates the Busy Bodies programme which provides supportive information about the physical and emotional changes that children experience at puberty, and about how they can look after themselves as they grow up. Basic information about sexual reproduction is also given.
